How did MAYA originate?
Who would have thought that a small plant like alfalfa could make the difference?
Customers told us that spreading the Hartog Lucerne mix in the horse pastures had a surprising effect: the soil seemed more vital, and the grass grew fuller and took on a deep green color. At Grasdrogerij Hartog, we saw a unique opportunity there, and that is how MAYA was born!
If alfalfa can have such a positive effect on soil and grass, why shouldn't we turn it into sustainable plant food for every garden? This is how MAYA's first product came into being: an organic mineral plant food based on alfalfa. A plant food that not only ensures a beautiful green lawn but also nourishes and improves the soil.
From the beginning, we have made a clear promise: no animal ingredients such as manure, blood, or bones. Instead, we draw our strength from plants. In doing so, MAYA stands for a better world and a more sustainable future.

Our plant food starts with plants. Lucerne forms the basis and ensures a natural effect.
But plants also need minerals to grow. By adding these, the plant receives everything it needs to grow, and we help the plants stay strong.

MAYA's plant food is made without animal ingredients. We use only plant-based raw materials and minerals to nourish and grow plants.

No odor nuisance
MAYA's plant food contains no animal ingredients and therefore has no strong odor.
